Log Cabin

Although this charming cabin is a far cry from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s very primitive “Little House on the Prairie”, it IS an authentic hand crafted log cabin, not one of the modern day kit-variety imitations. This spacious, one-of-a-kind cabin has one-foot thick walls and an equally impressive lawn and gardens surrounding it, making it a wonderful place for large families with children to run and play. Enter the front door from the covered front porch, where you may be temporarily sidetracked as rocking chairs beckon. You’ll be tempted to sit and watch the hummingbirds buzz the overflowing hanging flower baskets as you take in the view. Once inside, real knotty pine plank paneling greets you in the main room. Part sitting room, part bedroom, it has tall cathedral ceilings and a magnificent brick fireplace and thick slate hearth. A large picture window and hand-hewn beams give character to the living room, which has a Queen sized sofa bed, coffee table, TV, refrigerator, dresser and rocking chair. A Four-Poster mahogany bed with matching blanket chest and country quilt will lead you to the Master bedroom. Up the stairs to the mezzanine, you will find a second bedroom containing a Double and a Twin bed, a maple rocker and ample closets. The bathroom has both a tub and a shower.
