The Sugarhouse

It comes as no surprise that the Sugarhouse is the most requested cottage amongst our honeymoon and anniversary couples. This darling building was actually a REAL maple sugar house in its former life, and its walls hold sweet memories of all kinds. Follow the curved path to the deck where you can sit in the Adirondack chairs and take in the view of the enormous red maple tree on the luxuriously sized lawn … a spot where brides often hold their wedding ceremonies. Inside the sugarhouse, you will be struck by the hand-hewn beams, the seasoned planks and the green and white ivy vine wallpaper. White eyelet curtains adorn the windows, and a curly maple coffee table, rocking chair, queen size sofa bed and other furnishings create a lovely sitting room. You’ll also find primitive-style country hand painted furniture with patterned tin door panels. A wrought iron queen size bed with matching lighting are in the bedroom, whose rustic elegance also includes a barn board wainscoting and spectacular views of the White Mountains. A spacious 12’ x 16’ bathroom has an elegant 2-person Jacuzzi tub, shower, vanity with two sinks and a chandelier! It’s no wonder that people reserve ahead of time for this cottage!
